About Me

I was born in California and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I attended BYU, served a full-time mission, and married in the Salt Lake Temple. My religion was the most important aspect of my life.

In 2024, as a mom of three young kids, I came across historical information that caused me to lose my belief in the truth claims of the LDS Church. My husband researched by my side and came to the same conclusion. We went from “all in” to “all out” in three days.

The grief was indescribable. But leaving the church was also interwoven with an unexpected amount of joy and personal growth as I discovered new truths and let go of painful beliefs.

Even with wonderful friends and family, I often felt lonely or misunderstood in my journey. Then, a friend of a friend reached out who had just left the church. We had never met, yet we started an email exchange filled with vulnerability, connection, and relief.

I experienced the beauty and power of women supporting each other through life’s transitions. I started this project because I wanted more of that energy in my life and in the world.

Currently, my family and I live in a small coastal town in New Zealand. I spend my days connecting with friends, snuggling my family, and being in nature as much as possible.
